I organised the third Faringdon Jelly on Friday 1st June and I’m pleased to say it was a resounding success! During the four hour session we had six people come along – strangely enough all female – and as well as chatting and doing some informal networking we got some work done too. I had taken along a big pile of receipts I was determined to input on my accounting spreadsheet and despite the natter I managed to get it done – another thing crossed off the task list! We had some interesting discussions about small business, the economy, alternative therapies and social media, and I think everyone felt it was a useful session.
The next one will be on Friday 6th July, again at the i-cafe in London Street, Faringdon. The cafe is going through a few changes but I have been reassured that there will be tea and coffee on hand – though we may have to settle for comfy sofas rather than tables and chairs!

Another bit of Faringdon news is the newly launched Faringdon Loyalty Card. The card costs just £2 and gives cardholders discounts from over 30 businesses around Faringdon – including mine! I’m really pleased to be involved in this initiative, which aims to encourage people to shop local. I was even more pleased to be invited to build the website, which is now up and running at www.faringdonloyalty.co.uk . You’ll find there full details of the scheme along with the participating businesses and their offers. You can buy cards from any of the businesses taking part – I also have a supply here, so if you’d like one and are going to be seeing me at a networking meeting somewhere let me know and I’ll bring a few along.
