Recommendation: First Site Guide

guide to bloggingDo you want to start your own personal blog but don’t know how to do it?

I recently came across a website called First Site Guide and decided to download their free  PDF guide to blogging. The website was established recently by successful bloggers because they believe in a web for everyone.

After reading the guide, I can definitely recommend it to any aspiring bloggers wanting to start their own blogging site from scratch.

The first part of the book will help you understand the reasons why people blog, give examples of popular blogs with different styles, and guide you through choosing the perfect niche.

The next two chapters provide detailed instruction on how to start and create your own self-hosted WordPress Blog. You’re taken through the process step by step and it’s written in a way that is easy for beginners to understand.

You’ll also be guided through creating content and the different types of content you can use, like podcast, ebooks, videos etc.

Starting your own blog is great but promoting it is another story and the great thing about this guide is that it doesn’t stop at simply setting up your blog.  It also walks you through different ways of promoting your blog and integrating it with Social Media.

The last chapter talks about monetizing your blog and how you can establish passive income and earn even while you’re sleeping.

I can recommend this book not only for beginners but also for established bloggers who want to explore more ways to improve their current strategies, build an online presence or monetize their site.

The website is also a great way to make connections with other bloggers all over the world, learn from them and improve your own style and blogging skills along the way.

And of course if you need to buy web space for your new blog, or want any help setting it up or writing blog posts, you know where to come … just drop me a line!

UPDATE JANUARY 2016: The guys at First Site Guide have now added a really useful Resources page to their site, which includes books on setting up food and fashion blogs, reviews on hosting companies, video tutorials, articles and much more. Check it out here!
